Regular Events are walking events with designated start time ranges. Don't worry though...you still walk them at your own pace!

September

6 September 2008, Winter Springs,
Description: Start from 0800-0930 (finish by 1230) and walk towards Oviedo on the shaded Cross Seminole Trail and back to the finish on the shaded Tuskawilla area streets.

Directions: Start is at Barnie’s, 160 Tuskawilla Rd., in Winter Springs Town Center. From Orlando or Daytona use Exit 94 and drive east past US 17-92 & SR 419 to Tuskawilla Ave. Turn left and park on Tuskawilla or go left into the shopping area. Registration is facing the parking lot.

20 September 2008, Orlando, Loch Haven Neighborhood Center
Directions: Start from 0800-0930 (finish by 1230) and walk from the Center through the Science Center and Loch Haven Park and nearby residences. Visit the art museum when finished.

Directions: 610 North Lake Formosa Drive. The start is from 8:00 to 9:30 (finish by 12:30) From Orlando or Daytona take exit 85, Princeton St. Turn left at E Princeton St/SR-438 and continue to follow E Princeton St. Turn right at Alden Rd. Turn left toward N Lake Formosa Dr.

18 October 2008, Winter Garden, Village at Fowler’s Grove
Description: Start from 0830-0930 (finish by 1230). Walk in the new west Orange County shopping area, local residential areas and join us for lunch at Uno’s about 1200.

Directions: The start is at Starbucks at the Village, 3310 Daniels Rd. From Orlando use either I-4 or SR 408 (toll) to the Turnpike and go to the north. Use Exit 267B toward Tampa on SR 429 (toll) and drive to exit 19, Daniels Rd. Turn right and Starbucks is to the left next to Taco Bell and across from Wachovia Bank. From SR 50 turn south on Daniels Rd to Fowler’s Grove and drive to Starbucks on the right. From Tampa use I-4 to SR 429 (toll) and take exit 19, Daniels Rd. Turn left to Starbucks on the left.

31 October to 2 November 2008, Sebring’s Kenilworth Lodge
Description: Starting Halloween evening at 4:00 there are 4 walks and 2 great social events for the weekend. The walks in Sebring (2), Lake Placid, and Highland Hammock (where you can also do a 5th, the Manatees YRE). The Happy Wanderers, Mid Florida Milers, and Suncoast Sandpipers web sites have brochures and preregistration files. There is a social (in costume) Friday eve at the hotel and the Saturday dinner at the Lakeview Restaurant is reasonably priced. Call the hotel for the WAF special rate.

Directions: Sebring is on US 27 55 miles south of I-4. The start and registration is at the Kenilworth Lodge, 1600 SE Lakeview Ave.

8 November 2008, Lake Buena Vista and Festival of the Masters
Description: Start from 0900-0930 and finish by 1230. Walk in Downtown Disney during the annual Disney Masters show. The walk will be different than the YRE and the route allows you to enjoy the award winning artists invited to the show.

Directions: From Orlando and Tampa use exit 68 and turn right from Orlando, left from Tampa. Turn right into crossroads and the start will be to the left of Pirates Cove Adventure Golf.

Remember to walk the 8 fine Year Round Events in the Orlando area, many shaded for a cooler walking experience: Altamonte Springs, Celebration (2), Lake Buena Vista, Maitland, Orlando (2), Winter Park.
