DESCRIPTION: The 5 and 10K walk start point is at 9055 Northlake Parkway. The walks start between 8:30-10:00 am and are through residential areas of the Northlake Park, part of Lake Nona residential development. The tree lined streets and the parks make this a pleasant walk. Leashed pets are allowed (not inside YMCA). Strollers and wheel chairs can be used. Please carry water. Trail Ratings: 1A. DIRECTIONS: To Lake Nona YMCA at 9055 Northlake Parkway, Orlando, from West Orlando use I-4S/N to Exit 82B, SR 408E to exit 17, right on SR 417S. Exit at #24, Dowden Rd and turn right. Turn left on Narcoossee Rd. Turn right on Northlake Parkway for 0.6 miles. From Daytona exit at I-4W number 101C on SR 417S use Exit at number 24, Dowden Rd and turn right. Turn left on Narcoossee Rd. Turn right on Northlake Parkway for 0.6 miles. From Orlando use Colonial or SR408E (exit 16) to Goldenrod Rd. Turn right on Goldenrod. DESCRIPTION: Mid-Florida Milers annual New Years Day 6 and 10K walk. Register between 9:30 and 10:00 am at Pirates Cove Golf. Walk instructions are provided. Enjoy the Disney Spring and surrounding areas with holiday decorations and new venues and locations. Wheelchairs and strollers have minimum difficulty. Pets are not allowed. To Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf at 12545 State Rd 535 from Orlando use I-4W (from Tampa use I-4E). Use Exit 68 and turn right from Orlando (left from Tampa) on SR 535 (Apopka Vineland) to 1st traffic light. Turn right into Crossroads Shopping Center. Continue ahead to Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf Course. Cold drinks, snacks, water and restrooms are available at the S/F and at commercial establishments on the route. DESCRIPTION: The 5K and 10K walks start between 8:30-9:00 am and are to the north of downtown and are tree lined, shaded walks near lakes through residential areas. It uses the Dinky Line Urban Trail, passes Loch Haven Park (the Museum of Art, Menello Museum), walks thru Mead Garden, and returns along Antique Row. Restrooms are available at the start, Fresh Market (on Dinky Line), Mead Garden, and some area businesses. The walk is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Pets are allowed. Please carry water. To 99 East Marks St., Orlando, from Sanford/Daytona via I4W use Exit 84, Ivanhoe Blvd. (NOTE I-4 construction can cause delays). Turn right at the bottom of the ramp. Go straight on Legion Place and merge into Orange Ave., a one-way street. Keep left and turn left onto Marks St. The Senior Center parking lot is on the left after the apartment building. From Disney/Tampa via I4E to Orlando use Exit 83A, Amelia St. Go straight at the bottom of the ramp. Keep right and turn right at the next light onto Colonial Drive (SR50E). DESCRIPTION: 14 Jan walk at Blue Springs State Park. Arrive Early, as parking is limited!! Pay fee at park entrance then drive to the last parking lot and look for our table & IVV banner. This is the largest spring on the St Johns River and is a designated Manatee Refuge during the winter, home to a growing population of the West Indian Manatee. Walk on paved park road, unpaved campground road, service road and hiking trails. Not suitable for strollers / wheelchairs. 15 Jan walk at DeLeon Springs State Park. Pay fee at park entrance and drive to parking area. Register at small pavilion (look for IVV Banner) and enjoy this Florida State Park with natural hot springs and a beautiful wooded trail 4.5 mile loop, including ancient trees and historic sites. Wear appropriate footwear for a nature trail and there may be some mud on trail depending on rain the week leading up. 16 Jan walk in DeLand. Registration in the Comfort Inn meeting room. Join us for a pleasant Martin Luther King Day walk in the historic town of DeLand, FL. Trail includes the campus of Stetson University plus parks and beautiful murals in downtown DeLand. A parade will be going on mid-morning and your route will take you nearby if you want to view it. DESCRIPTION: Note the short 30 minute start window Between - 8:30-9:00 am. The 6 & 11 km walks begin at the 75 acre Blue Jacket Park near Lake Baldwin. Walk in the residential areas around the park and part of the park. The 11K finishes by walking around Lake Baldwin. Leashed pets are allowed. Wheelchairs and strollers are accommodated. DIRECTIONS: To Blue Jacket Park at 2501 General Reese from east or west Orlando use SR50 or SR 408 (toll). Turn left on General Reese for 0.6 miles to start on right in parking lot. From Sanford use I4W to Lee Rd. Take exit 88 & turn left. DESCRIPTION: The Center opens at 9am. The 5 and 10K walk registration is between 9:00-9:30am. Walk instructions have info on homes and buildings on the walk routes. You will walk on downtown and/or residential areas south of town. See historic downtown Orlando, new Arts Center, art projects, Lake Eola, and the County Courthouse. The large fountain in Lake Eola, constructed in 1957 and completely refurbished in 2011 provides a nightly light show with music. Pets are allowed. Please carry water. Trail Ratings: 1A. DESCRIPTION: Six walks on or near the sugar white sands around the Panama City Beach area, one Friday, two Saturday, two Sunday and one Monday PLUS nearby YREs The headquarters for the walks is the Hampton Inn in Panama City Beach. It is located at 13505 Panama City Beach Parkway in Panama City Beach. Cut off date for registration for rooms is January 10, 2017, room rate is $109, and rooms are blocked under "WALK ROOMS".
