Traditional Events are walking events with designated start time ranges. Don't worry though...you still walk them at your own pace!
7 December Blue Springs State Park, Orange City, home to the Convention Mascot Floyd
Description: You must pay a park entrance fee. Start between 8:30 and 9:00 and walk 10km route that is 60% shaded. This is the largest spring on the St Johns River and is a designated Manatee Refuge during the winter, home to a growing population of the West Indian Manatee. It's not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. Pets are not allowed in campgrounds and concessions or on beaches and boardwalks. Walk on paved park road, unpaved campground road, service road, hiking trail, Blue Run and Spring Boil Boardwalk where manatees are present in colder winter months. DIRECTIONS: To the Park at 2100 West French Ave., Orange City, (386) 775-3663, from I-4 eastbound take exit 111B, turn left on Saxon Blvd. for 1.3 miles. Turn right on Enterprise for one mile. Turn right on US 17-92 for two miles. Turn left on West French Ave. for two miles and then left into Park. Call Mike at 407.304.6394 on the event day.
21 December Night Walk in Winter Park. Elks Lodge, Howell Branch Rd.

DESCRIPTION: Register from 5:30-6:00 pm and walk 5 or 10 kilometers with the Mid Florida Milers for a fun night walk. We select a neighborhood area and then select the best route based on the seasons decorations. It is a great time to walk at your pace and enjoy family and friends. There are a couple requirements: wear some light or reflective clothing/vest and carry flashlights. This is a time to walk slow and enjoy. Please carry water. Pets are not suggested but allowed. DIRECTIONS: To the Elks Lodge at 4755 Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park, use westbound I-4 to Exit 92, SR 436, Semoran Blvd. Turn left to Howell Branch Rd. at the 7-11. Turn left to fire station and U-Turn to the lodge on the right. From eastbound I-4 use exit 88, Fairbanks. Turn right to SR 436, Semoran Blvd. Turn left to Howell Branch Rd. at the 7-11. Turn right to fire station and U-Turn to the lodge on the right. From southbound SR 417 use exit 38, Aloma Ave. Turn right to Howell Branch Rd. Turn right and just past the light at Dodd Rd. the lodge is on the right. Call Mike at 407.304.6394 on the event day.
