DESCRIPTION: The 5K and 10K walks start between 8:30-10:00am and are in the residential areas north of Horatio/Howell Branch and southwest of Semoran. Walk on the Kewannee trail and enjoy the
park pathway. The walk is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Pets are allowed. Please carry water. Trail Ratings: 1A. For information contact Mike at 407.695.9181. email@example.com.
DIRECTIONS: To Kewannee Park at 1734 Kewannee Trail from Orlando on I4E use exit 92, Semoran/SR436. Turn right on Semoran for 4.2 miles to Kewannee Trail. From Sanford on I4W use exit 92, Semoran/SR436. Turn left on Semoran for 4.3 miles to Kewannee Trail. Turn right on Kewannee Tr. for 0.5 miles. From South Orlando use Semoran to Kewannee Tr. (1st light past Red Bug Lake Rd.) and turn left. Note: the Kewannee reconstruction is almost finished and one impact was parking. To minimize parking issues, try to car pool, or meet behind Buffalo Wild Wings (Semoran and Kewannee Tr in shopping Center) and ride together, or use Flaming Arrow (opposite the pavilion) parking on right side (maybe 10 cars), or go 100 yds past park entrance to south end of park to dirt lot on left leading to fenced area (another ~10 cars). DESCRIPTION: Our newest Year Round/permanent 5K & 10K walk event starting between 9:00-10:00 am in The Villages' Spanish Springs area. The walk route is into 5 Villages, on multimode trails, past a golf course, and in Spanish Springs Center. Wheelchairs and strollers are acceptable. For information call 317.300.0526.
DIRECTIONS: The TownePlace Suites is at 1141 Alonzo Ave. The Villages FL 32159. From Gainesville on I75S use exit 341, County Rd. 484. Turn left, cross County Road 475 and US 301 to US 27/441. Turn right on US 27/441 to Avenida Central in Lady Lake. Turn right on Avenida Central, cross Paige Place, and turn left on Alonzo Avenue to TownPlace suites.** From Tampa on I-75 N use exit 329, State Rd. 44. Turn right on State Road 44 to US 301. Turn left on US 301. Turn right on County Road 466 to Buena Vista Boulevard. Turn left on Buena Vista Boulevard to roundabout at El Camino Real. Turn right on El Camino Real to roundabout and cross Morse Boulevard to Avenida Central. Turn right on Avenida Central to Alonzo Avenue. DESCRIPTION: Register between 8:30 - 10:00 am and walk 5K and 10K routes with the Mid Florida Milers in the town of Oakland starting in the Nature Preserve, its wilderness paths, and its museum. The preserve's beautiful 128 acres make use of a 2/3-mile boardwalk leading through natural wetlands to a covered pavilion on Lake Apopka. There are also numerous hiking trails leading through the oak and pine forests, habitat gardens and a gorgeous, sustainable built visitor center - complete with a microscope laboratory, live animal exhibits, and a cultural/natural history museum. The 10K walk continues downtown past City Hall and on the West Orange Trail, and in residential areas of the city. The Nature Preserve provides exceptional informational signs and trail markings. Part of their information is accessed by QR code. With a smartphone go to Google Play or Apple App Store and download a QR application (they are easy to use). You may show your appreciation by donating at the finish. The event takes place regardless of weather conditions. Wheelchairs and strollers are difficult in the woods but acceptable. DIRECTIONS: Address - 747 Machette Trl, Oakland, Florida. From I-4N/S use exit 82 to SR 408W. Follow it to the Turnpike toward Ocala. Take exit 272 (Clermont/Winter Garden) to FL-50. Turn right on SR 50 for a 0.6 miles. Turn left at the light at Tubbs (West Orange Lumber). Turn left onto Oakland Ave. for 0.5 miles and then right to 747 Machette Trl. to the Nature Preserve. From SR 429, use exit 24 and turn right from Apopka (left from the turnpike) on Plant St. Follow it for 5.1 miles thru Winter Garden and Oakland to Machette Trl. Turn right to Nature Preserve.
