18 February 2012 Oviedo, Lawton Elementary

DESCRIPTION: The Mid Florida Milers will walk 5 and 10 km starting between 9 and 10:30 am from the school and walk on the Oviedo neighborhoods and streets and Cross Seminole trail. Restrooms are at the start. Please bring and carry water. Strollers and Wheelchairs are OK. Leashed pets are allowed. Rated 1A. DIRECTIONS: To Lawton Elementary at 151 Graham Avenue, from I-4 use exit 82 onto eastbound SR 408 (toll) and drive to SR 417 northbound toward Sanford. Use exit 41, Red Bug Lake Rd., and turn right. Go to the left lane and turn left at the next light Aloma Ave./SR 426. Follow past the high school now on Broadway. Lawton is on the right just past Lake Jessup Ave. From Daytona use I-4 and SR 417 to Exit 41, turn left, and follow above directions. Call Mike at 407.304.6394 for info on day of event.

3 March 2011, Winter Park Crosby YMCA
DESCRIPTION: Start between 9:00-9:30. The walk is free and those desiring AVA credit pay $3. The quick start period allows you to enjoy at your leisure the 5 Km walk or the new 10 Km route. In Winter Park you can visit the Morse Museum, Polansek sculptures, stroll in the Kraft Azelea Gardens, take the lake boat tour (east end of Morse), relax in Central Park, and see Rollins College's Knowles Chapel & Cornell Art Museum. DIRECTIONS: To 2005 Mizell Ave. from Orlando take I-4 east to Exit 87, Fairbanks Ave. and drive right (east) for 3.5 miles thru Winter Park (becomes Aloma Ave.). Turn right on Lakemont Ave. SEE ## below. From northbound SR 417 use Exit 38, Aloma, and turn left, cross SR 436 and drive 6 miles. Turn left on Lakemont at Walgreens (on left). ## Then at the 1st light, turn left on Mizell Ave. Go 2 blocks and turn right on the 2d street as Mizell Ave. that goes right and bears left, then left into the Crosby Wellness Center/YMCA. 17 March 2012, Winter Garden, Chapin Station on the West Orange Trail
DESCRIPTION: The Mid Florida Milers will host a walk and lunch at Chapin Station from the Pavilion. Start a 5 or 10km walk between 9:00 -10:30, finishing by 1:30. The walk is free and those desiring AVA credit pay $3. Walk routes will be into Winter Garden and along the West Orange Trail. Restrooms are at the start and in Winter Garden. A lunch menu will be available for a small fee. The park has no entry fee and does not open until 8:00 am. Please carry water. Strollers and Wheelchairs are OK. Leashed pets are allowed. Rated 1A. DIRECTIONS: To Chapin Station at 501 Crown Point Cross Rd., Winter Garden, from SR 429, use exit 24 (Plant St.) Turn right (southbound) and drive 0.6 mi. to WEST Crown Point Rd. Turn right and go 0.7 mi. to Crown Point Cross Rd. Turn left to the park on the right. From SR 408 (toll) exit onto SR 429 and use the 1st exit, #24). Turn left and drive 0.7 mi. to WEST Crown Point Rd. Turn right and go 0.7 mi. to Crown Point Cross Rd. Turn left to the park on the right. From westbound SR 50 (West Colonial) go 1.0 mi past SR 429 to 9th St. Turn right on 9th St for 1.1 mi. Turn right on Plant St for 0.3 mi. Turn left on Hennis Rd. for 0.8 mi. 7 April 2012 Celebration Starbucks
DESCRIPTION: Mid Florida Milers Walking Club will host 5 and 10/11 Km walk starting anytime between 8:00-9:00. Enjoy at your leisure the 5 Km walk or the 10 Km or 11 Km routes with the Mid Florida Milers. In Celebration one route is within the town and some residential areas, a long boardwalk toward the high school, and then past new business buildings before ending past some larger homes. The second route is in the older town areas and passes the hospital and a boardwalk along 17-92 before returning on Celebration Ave. Enjoy a meal afterwards in one of the nice restaurants. Restrooms are at the start. Strollers and wheelchairs are acceptable. Participants should carry water. Leashed pets are allowed. Rated 1A. DIRECTIONS: To Starbuck's Coffee at 715 Bloom St. from Tampa go east on I-4, take Exit 64B, Kissimmee/US 192, east to Celebration Ave. From Daytona/Orlando go west, take Exit 64A, Kissimmee/US 192, east to Celebration Ave. Then turn right on Celebration Ave. From Kissimmee on US 192 turn left on Celebration Ave. From Cocoa & east Orlando on SR 417 take exit 2, Celebration Ave. and turn left. 21 April 2012 Winter Park Mead Garden
DESCRIPTION: The Mid Florida Milers will host 5 and 10 Kms walk from Mead Garden in Winter Park. Start Between 8:30 - 9:30, finish by 12:00. The walk in parts of shaded Winter Park is on sidewalks and part of the Garden. Restrooms are at the start. The walk in the shaded Winter Park area will a pleasurable route for the family. The park opens at 8:00 am and has no entry fee. Please carry water. Strollers and Wheelchairs are OK. Leashed pets are allowed. Rated 1A. DIRECTIONS: To Mead Garden at 1300 Denning Dr., from I-4 westbound, use exit 88 (Fairbanks). Turn left and drive 1.3 mi. crossing US 17-92 to Denning Dr. Turn right and go 0.6 mi. to the park on the left. From SR 408 (toll) exit onto I-4 eastbound to exit 88 (Fairbanks) and follow above directions.

From westbound Aloma Ave. continue thru Winter Park. Turn left on Orange Ave. just after RR tracks. Go 0.4 mi. to the next light. Turn left for 0.4 mi to the Park on the left. Call Mike at 407.304.6394 for info on day of event.

Remember to walk the 8 fine Year Round Events in the Orlando area, many shaded for a cooler walking experience: Celebration (2), Lake Buena Vista, Maitland, Orlando (3), Winter Park.
