7 March 2015 Orlando Lakes at the Beardall Sr. Ctr.

DESCRIPTION: Register between 9:00-9:30 and finish at your leisure. Walk the 5km and 10km downtown Orlando routes. Walk into Church Street, Lake Eola, Colonial Town, and past the new Performing Art Center. The routes are suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Pets are allowed, but not in Senior Center. DIRECTIONS: To the Beardall Senior Center at 800 Delaney Ave. use I-4W to exit 82B, Anderson St. Turn left on Anderson; from I4E, exit 82B, turn right on South St. Turn right on Orange Ave. Go 1 mi to Gore St. Turn left and then left into the parking lot. There is additional parking by continuing to Delaney, turn left and then left at Bay St. Start will be in a small pavilion at rear of center. Call Mike for info on day of event at 407.304.6394.

DESCRIPTION: No entry fee but sign park register on way to Pavilion. Walk fee is $3 per participant. Register between 8:45 and 9:20 and begin the walk at pi (3.141592653) time (3/14/15 9:26:53) on a 5 & 10 km route. Join us for a p (pie) after a chili lunch for $5. A Pi pin award is available for $3 to the 1st 25 purchasers. The walks at the Park provide wonderful vistas and you will see many birds. Walk at your own pace and bring binoculars and cameras. The walk will be on the berms around the 42-ponding areas as water flows from the Iron Bridge Water Treatment plant to the St. Johns. Wheelchairs and strollers can be accommodated. DIRECTIONS: Wetlands Park is at 25155 Wheeler Rd., 40 minutes east of downtown Orlando on SR 50 (Colonial Dr.) to Christmas, Florida. Go north (left) 2.3 miles on Ft. Christmas Rd (CR 420) and 1.5 miles east (right) on Wheeler Rd. Parking is on left. Additional parking may be available on the right, depending on the weather. Call 407.304.6394 on day of event.

DESCRIPTION: Register and begin the walk any time between 8:30 and 10:00 and walk a 5K & 10 km route (the 5K route will not go to the Festival). The walks are at your own pace and excellent for you and your family/friends. The 10K walk is designed to reach the Art Festival about 9:30 and allow you to spend as much time there as you wish. The walk will be on city streets and sidewalks. Wheelchairs and strollers can be accommodated. Leashed pets are allowed but not in the WP Art Festival area (Central Park). Please carry water. DIRECTIONS: To 2005 Mizell Ave. from Orlando take I-4 east to Exit 87, Fairbanks Ave. and drive right (east) for 3.5 miles thru Winter Park (becomes Aloma Ave.). Turn right on Lakemont Ave. SEE ## below. From SR 417 use Exit 38, Aloma, and turn west, drive 6 miles. Turn left on Lakemont at Walgreens (on left). ## Then at the 1st light, turn left on Mizell Ave. Go 2 blocks and turn right on the 2d street as Mizell Ave. goes right and bears left, then left into the Crosby Wellness Center/YMCA.

DESCRIPTION: Register between 8:30-9:00 for a 5 or 10 km walk at Starbucks. The 5 and 10 km walks are within the Town of Celebration. The walks weave by different areas of the homes, schools, wetlands, parks, and businesses. Restrooms are available at the Start/Finish only. Wheelchairs and strollers acceptable. DIRECTIONS: To Starbuck’s Coffee at 715 Bloom St., Kissimmee, from Tampa on I-4E take Exit 64, Kissimmee, right to Celebration Ave. From Sanford/Orlando on I4W take Exit 64, bear left to Kissimmee and exit onto US 192E to Celebration Ave. (2d light). Turn right on Celebration Ave. From Kissimmee on US 192W turn left on Celebration Ave. From Cocoa & east Orlando on SR 417S take exit 2, Celebration Ave. and turn left. Enter Celebration and go to 1st stop sign, turn left to Front St. Turn right to Starbucks at Bloom St. Park in any available place. Call Mike for info on day of event at 407.304.6394.

18 April 2015 Maitland Audubon Birds of Prey

DESCRIPTION: Register and begin the walk any time between 8:30 and 10:00 and walk a 5 & 10 km route. All walkers pay $8 for the Birds of Prey tour and walk. The Mid Florida Milers teamed with the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey (Fl.audubon.org/audubon-center-birds-prey), to support their conservation efforts for an early Earth Day (4/22/15) walk event. The Center rescues, provides medical treatment, rehabilitates, and releases to the wild Florida raptors (owls, hawks, and eagles). The Center treats over 600 birds annually and is open to the public Tues-Sundays for visitors and scheduled tours. The Mid Florida Milers walking club will donate fees paid by walkers and provide a cash donation. Guided Tours will be at 1015, 1115, & 1215 to accommodate walkers as they return from the walks. Your participation in the event provides the Center funds and allows you to enjoy the Maitland neighborhoods and then tour the Center. It is a great opportunity to bring a friend, relative, or partner to see the essential work done by the Center. Please return by the appropriate tour time noted above. The walks are at your own pace and excellent for you and your family/friends. Wheelchairs and strollers are acceptable, though there are no sidewalks on some streets. Walkers are invited to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at the gazebo by the lake, before or after the tour. Leashed pets are not allowed in the Center. Please carry water. DIRECTIONS: To the Center at 1000 Audubon Way, Maitland, from Orlando on I4E use exit 88, Lee Road. Turn left on US 17-92 for about 0.9 miles. Turn left on Lake Ave. (Go to ** below). From DeLand on I4W use exit 90, Maitland Blvd. Turn right at 2d light, Maitland Ave. Turn right on US 17-92. Turn right on Lake Ave. (Go to ** below). From east Orlando use Aloma. Turn right on Howell Branch, cross Semoran, change to Horatio (in Maitland). After about 6 miles turn left on US 17-92. Turn right on Lake Ave (3d light). **Just before entering Eatonville, turn right on East St. to the Birds of Prey Center. Park in the lot or on street.
