6 September 2014 Winter Park Crosby YMCA

DESCRIPTION: Register between 8:30-9:00 and finish anytime. This is a 5km or 11 km walk (3.1 & 6.2 mi) along oak shaded Winter Park downtown and residential neighborhoods. The 11km walks around Lake Virginia's shaded, oak lined streets into the Rollins College campus. Walk in downtown Winter Park's fine shops and the excellent restaurants along Park Ave. See the Morse Museum's display of Tiffany items. Leashed pets permitted but not in Central Park. DIRECTIONS: To 2005 Mizell Ave. from Orlando take I-4E to Exit 87, Fairbanks Ave. and turn right (east) for 3.5 miles thru Winter Park (becomes Aloma Ave.). Turn right on Lakemont Ave. SEE ## below. From SR 417 use Exit 38, Aloma, and turn left, drive 6 miles. Turn left on Lakemont at Walgreens (on left). ## Then at the 1st light, turn left on Mizell Ave. Go 2 blocks and turn right at the 2d street as Mizell Ave. goes right, then left into the Crosby Wellness Center/YMCA. DESCRIPTION: Register and begin the walk anytime between 8:30 and 10:00 and complete the walk by 1:00 pm. The walk is at your own pace in Altamonte Springs and is mostly shaded on the Seminole Wekiva Trail and on sidewalks passing through many nice neighborhoods. DIRECTIONS: To Starbucks at 1195 Springs Center South Blvd, Altamonte Springs, from Orlando use I-4E to SR 434, exit 94. Turn left on SR 434. Go under I-4 and get in left lane. Turn left on Douglas (light) and immediately right into shopping center. From Deland on I-4W use exit 94. Turn right and get in left lane. Orange Ave.); Cinema (Beacham, 46 N Orange Ave.); Bakery (Benjamin French, 716 E. Washington).
DESCRIPTION: Register between 9:00-9:30 and finish anytime. This is a 5 km and 10 km walk (3.1 & 6.2 mi). Walk instructions have local info on walk routes. You will walk on downtown and residential sidewalks. See historic downtown Orlando, Lake Eola, and the County Courthouse. See large scale art projects and the Performing Arts Center (opens 11/2014). The large fountain in Lake Eola was completely refurbished in 2011. Look for a "black swan" or take a ride in the swan paddleboats. This is new route in 2014 sand accommodates strollers and wheelchairs though some streets have no sidewalks. Please carry water. Leashed pets are allowed. Trail Ratings: 1A. DIRECTIONS: To the Beardall Senior Center at 800 N Delaney From I-4W, use exit 82B, Anderson. Left to Orange. Right on Orange go to 3rd light, Gore. Left, then left at mid block into the Senior Center. From I-4E use exit 82B. Right on South St. Right on Orange go to 4th light, Gore. Left and then left at mid block to the Senior Center. From SR 408W use exit 11A, Rosalind. Stay in left lane to Orange. Left on Orange to 4th light, Gore. Left on Gore and then left at mid block to Senior Center. From SR 408E use exit 10C, Downtown. And stay in left lane to Delaney. Right on Delaney to 1st light, Gore. Right, then right at mid block to Senior Center. Park in the lot. Registration at the rear of the center. The route in Oviedo/Winter Springs is on parts of the Cross Seminole Trail and on sidewalks passing through many nice neighborhoods that are partly shaded. DIRECTIONS: To the Black Hammock Trailhead at 1571 E. State Road 434, Winter Springs, from Orlando use I-4E/I-4W to SR 434, exit 94, Winter Springs/Longwood. Turn right on SR 434 Rd. From Deland turn left. Go 10 miles to trailhead just before SR 417 overpass. From Orlando or Sanford use any road to SR 417N/417S (Greeneway) and take exit 44. From 417N turn left shortly after passing under SR 417 into the trailhead;. From SR 417S turn right and then left into the trailhead. Call Mike for info on day of event at 407.304.6394.
