AVA Special Programs: Rainbows, Forts, Law Enforcement

DESCRIPTION: The 5 & 10 km walks are tree lined walks around Maitland and through residential areas. The new walk in 2012 passes Maitland Art Center, walks along Lake Sybelia, nears the Audubon Birds of Prey Center, circles Lake Catherine before returning to and around Lake Sybelia. The walk passes the Maitland Art Center (Mon- Fri, 10 am to 4:30 p.m.; Sat-Sun, 12:00-4:30 p.m.). The Waterhouse Museum is open Th-Su 12-4. The Birds of Prey Center of the Florida Audubon Society (Tue-Sun, 10 am to 4 p.m) is a great place to visit. Restrooms are available at Walgreens, Lake Lily (near playground), and at Jackson St. and Lake Sybelia Rd. Wheelchairs and strollers are acceptable. Pets are permitted on a leash. Please carry water. DIRECTIONS
From Orlando take Interstate 4 east to Exit 90A, Maitland Blvd., and exit right (From Daytona use Exit 90 and turn left) to the second light, Maitland Ave. Turn right, go 1.3 miles to Packwood (1 block past Horatio). Turn left, pass the Fire station on left, cross S. Orlando Ave. and turn right into the Walgreens parking lot. From Sanford or Orlando use US 17/92 to Maitland.

START/FINISH

Walgreen's Pharmacy at 330 Orlando Ave. opens at 8 AM daily. The registration box is to the right at the right side of the photo counter. The walk must be accomplished in daylight hours.
