ORLANDO LAKES - 5 and 10 km Walk Events - Artistic Heritage, Historic Churches, Railroad Heritage, Veteran Memorials, Cemetery Stroll Event (to 30 Jun 2010)
DESCRIPTION: The Information Desk is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (M-F) and 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (SS). The walk must be completed during daylight hours. Restrooms and water are available at the hospital and along the route. Contact: Kathy Bargar, 407.894.6124, kathyb@ITEC.com. You will walk on sidewalks in downtown and residential Orlando streets. See historic downtown Orlando, Colonial Town Historic area, Lake Eola, and County Courthouse. Both the Henry Arnett Memorial Walk and the Lakes walks will accommodate strollers and wheelchairs (though some streets have no sidewalks). Walk only during daylight hours. There are no significant grades. Please carry water. Rating: 1. The large fountain in Lake Eola, constructed in 1957, celebrates Orlando's 100th birthday. Look for the famous "black swan" or take a ride in the swan paddle boats. The 2d route passes 7 lakes surrounded by Orlando's older homes which have retained their original charm. Both routes new in December 2008.
DIRECTIONS
Drive to Orlando on I-4, take Exit 82A, SR 408, East-West Expy, east (to UCF) to the first exit, 10B, Orange Ave. Circle to right and turn left onto Orange Ave. and at the 3d light, turn right on Columbia. See # From Tampa on eastbound I-4 take Exit 81B, Kaley, turn to right (east) and at Orange Ave. turn left to Columbia; then turn left. See # OR From westbound SR 408 exit at Rosalind, turn left to Orange Ave. Turn left and go 5 lights to Columbia and turn right. # After turn go one block and turn left on Kuhl Ave. Go right on Copeland again and turn left into 2nd entrance of parking building. Parking is $4.00. Street Parking Sunday is free. Walk 1/2 block to ORMC hospital main entrance.

DOWNTOWN ORLANDO NORTH - 5 and 10 km Walk Events - Museum, Artistic Heritage, and Americas Garden 10 km Walk
Description: Hours of operation, 8 a.m.- 8 p.m. Monday- Saturday; Sundays closed. The grey file Walk Box is at the reception counter in the Office. Ask a center associate for help if needed. The walk must be accomplished in daylight hours. Pets are allowed but not in the Recreation Complex. This 2010 new 10 km walk (also 5 km) is a, treelined, and shaded walk near lakes, through residential areas, through Loch Haven Park, and along Ivanhoe Antique Row. Restrooms are available at Marks St. Senior Recreation Complex, the Orlando Museum of Art, and area businesses. An option is to visit the Mennello Museum of American Art (Tu - Sa, 10:30 to 4:30 p.m., Su, Noon - 4:30 p.m.), the Orlando Science Center (Su - Fr: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Sa: 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.), and the Orlando Museum of Art (Tu-Fr: 10am to 4pm Sa-Su: 12pm to 4pm Closed Mondays & Major Holidays) as well as shops along Ivanhoe Antique Row. Directions: To 99 East Marks Street, Orlando, from Daytona via I-4: Take Interstate 4 West toward downtown Orlando. Get off Exit at #84, Ivanhoe Blvd. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp. Go straight on Legion Place and merge into Orange Avenue, a one-way street. Keep left and turn left onto Marks Street. The Senior Center parking lot is on the left after the apartment building. The Senior Center is the large pink building through the trees. From Disney/Tampa west via I-4: Take Interstate 4 East to Orlando and use Exit 83A,Amelia Street. Go straight at the bottom of the ramp. Keep right and turn right at the next light onto Colonial Drive (State Road 50). Turn left at the second traffic light onto Magnolia Avenue, a one-way street. Turn left at the first traffic light onto Marks Street. The Senior Center is the pink building immediately on your right. From SR 408 toll follow State Road 408 West (East-West Expressway - a toll road) toward downtown Orlando. Take the Rosalind Ave., Exit 11A, traveling west (then merge onto South St.) and Exit 10B, Orange Ave traveling east. Turn right onto Rosalind Ave (Orange Ave from the west and it becomes Rosalind). Rosalind becomes Magnolia Avenue. Stay to the left and follow Magnolia across Colonial Drive (SR 50). Turn left at the next traffic light onto Marks Street. The Senior Center is the pink building immediately on your right.
