Rena McMahon A Celebration of Life
Rena McMahon has passed away after a heroic fight with Chronic Lymphoma Leukemia. Most of us did not even know how ill Rena was, since she always exuded a bright personality and spirit.
Her husband, John, writes:
Rena's most precious desire was to complete her 50 state walking goal. I cannot tell you how happy she was when she and I returned to the lobby of the Howard Johnson's hotel in Fargo, ND last Friday after doing just that. She had to complete this goal in a wheelchair, but the route was easy and she was so impressed with the sights and all.
Also she was so totally committed to preparing food for the Mid Florida Milers events. As I helped her with whatever I was able to do in fixing something "special" for the tired and hungry walkers as they finished, the joy shown from her like beacon.
A viewing and celebration of her life will be held at the Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home [Conway Chapel], located at 1413 South Semoran Blvd [SR-436] in Orlando [just north of Curry Ford Rd on the east side of the street] between 11am and 1pm on Sunday, Oct. 4. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in hopes that a swift cure will be found for this dread disease.
We extend our deepest sympathy to John, and we share his deep sorrow. We will miss Rena her friendly smile, and her generous heart more than words can express. Keep John in your thoughts and prayers. Our greatest comfort is to know that Rena, as John wrote, "has passed from this life to a place where there no hills on the trails and the weather is mild to walk her eternal YRE."

Rena was featured in the Orlando Sentinel, as a noted member of the community.
